project spotlight: A little North of Melrose

A few years ago I set out to build a vacation home for my family. I designed this home to be a place for friends and family to spend time together and enjoy swimming in Lake Sunapee and skiing Mount Sunapee.

Other than hiring for site work and framing, I spent my weekends up there for almost three years crafting a simple but warm house that is a bit rustic on the outside and a bit modern farmhouse on the inside.

​It's not just pretty. I installed a radiant heat system in the first floor and basement slab. The walls, roof and basement walls are filled with Icynene insulation. There is a tankless on-demand hot water heater. The windows are all Marvin Integrity casement or awning.

Unfortunately, life changes bring me to selling my little cabin in the woods in the fall of 2018. Be sure to call if you're interested in becoming the next caretaker of this house.
